But with devices and regulations that are often too broad and potentially insufficient, Pirelli saw a need to develop its own systems with a higher level of safety standards.

Pirelli has once again raised the bar on safety and innovation by keeping the tire at the centre of attention: confirming its faith in the Run Flat; investing in an increasingly close collaboration with the vehicle manufacturers; and choosing to place its trust in the 'direct' control of inflation pressure for the product's optimisation.
Here's how it works. When equilibrium changes, a revolutionary reaction occurs - the new device called K-Pressure™ AcousticBlue sends an alarm signal not only via the traditional system, but also to the user's cellular telephone. Then the SWS™ system - now available for SUVs - activates automatic re-inflation. This new system offers help in the case of a puncture, allowing the driver an extended amount of time to reach assistance, and with the natural loss of air, guaranteeing optimum pressure for 9-12 months.
